According to Barrett's system for categorizing photographs this image would be placed in the aesthetically evaluative group. The photographer considers this scene "to be worthy of aesthetic observation and contemplation". Barrett states that this photographic tradition has "an intense sensitivity to the mystical content of the natural landscape." There is no intent on the part of the photographer to have the viewer consider social or ethical issues. The viewer is simply invited to consider beauty for beauty's sake.
